Chiropractic Seminar Page Gets Facelift

by Vera Arteaga

I did some work this past weekend helping several organizations and chiropractic seminar groups get their event data included into the chiropractic events database on Planet Chiropractic. A few groups have been working together to decrease the amount of junk e-mails being sent out, and to get relevant seminar information all loaded into one location.
The seminar and events directory at planet chiropractic (PC) has been active since the late 1990s but some of the features have been in need of an update. I worked with one of the programmers over at PC and convinced them to widen their page header to 850 pixels. I wanted 900 since nearly everyone is changing out their old CRT monitors for LCD panels, and most of those can view web sites by at least 1028 wide.

We we managed to complete the directory pages and there were some seminars to add. The International Chiropractors Association had some nutritional events added to the database. All of the events added will be taking place in Costa Mesa, California. Some chiropractic event data was updated for LifeSource and the seminar that is taking place at Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, at the end of this month.

I’ve been using the seminar database to upload conference information for groups such as New Beginnings, the ICPA, the Masters Circle, ICA continuing education, Life West, CCCLA, and some others. Some people don’t realize that it’s free to post chiropractic event and seminar data to the web site. Then again, people don’t know a lot of things about ways you can promote events and seminars for free online.

Here’s my brief list of features / benefits when posting to PC >>

  1. It’s free!
  2. the people you’re trying to reach are already on the web site (for example people typing: Chiropractic Continuing Education)
  3. adding an event is easy, since it’s a step-by-step filling in a form process
  4. you get two links to your website

Outside of the chiropractic profession, if a web site with the PR value of six (what PC has) , offered links to your web site you’d probably be paying some sort of fee. What’s cool about the web site links they offer, is you get one for your homepage and you get one for your registration page (if you have a registration page). If you don’t have a registration page I’d put a link to another page on your chiropractic site, or maybe to a PDF file describing the seminar.

The events auto-delete the day after the seminar or conference, but I think you can post your information for up to a year in advance. I have a feeling if more chiropractic seminar companies were notified that it was free to post the data, they would do so. I guess we’ll have to leave that up to the webmaster at planet chiropractic, I’ve got enough work to do!
